While the service was lovely unfortunately the fish and chips themselves were not so lovely fish is dry batter was a let down

$7:00 worth of chips. Lovely fresh oil and anywhere else this would be a $20 bill. Amazing girls behind the counter

Best fish and chips in the south west, wouldn't go anywhere else for the life of me.

We ordered 1 Bronze whaler and 1 snapper, minimum chips and 6 scallops. The shark was so thin and overcooked, as was the snapper - dry, soggy, thick batter and inedible. However, only out done by the scallops which were cooked with the roe on - these were grey in colour as were the scallops - needless to say they were untouched! Again, the batter was way too thick and soggy. Needless to say we ate none of the meal other than a few of the chips which were passable and enough to feed a family of 6.

It was without doubt the worst fish and chips we have ever eaten!

Fresh oil, a thin batter made with self raising flour, pinch of baking powder and mixed with soda water. Just toss the fish fillet - at least 1/4" (65-75cm) thick - in flour, dip in batter and pop in deep fryer until fish is just cooked - the result a beautiful fresh meal.

We regularly catch, or buy fresh, and cook our own fish and it is not rocket science. Perhaps the owner's might try our method sometime!
